Grandma, you’re gone,
I feel so alone.
Things I wanted to tell
you,
Are now in this poem
about you.
She wasn’t my real
grandmother,
But she was better than
any other.
A step-grandmother was
she,
Oh, but not to me.
She had a beautiful
face,
No one could ever take
her place.
She filled our lives
with love,
But now she is in Heaven
above.
God needed her, so He
took her home.
Her service on earth was
done.
“What was her service,”
You inquire,
She was here to teach
and inspire.
Such a wonderful, loving
person,
She was a very unique
woman.
With love, she raised my
Mom,
Though to her, she
didn’t belong.
A special lady, she was,
She gave all of us her
love.
I watched her die in
pain,
My tears I couldn’t
contain.
There were days she
thought I was mad,
Never was I mad, only
confused and sad.
To watch the pain, of a
lady as great as She,
Was the hardest thing
for me.
I will always keep her
in my heart,
Of my life she will
always be a part.
We have now laid her to
rest,
But she will always be
the best.

As
you have probably guessed, my grandmother was a wonderful
and very special Lady. She is missed greatly. If I could be just
half the person she was, I would be happy.
She was my step-grandmother, and she didn't have
to accept us as she did, but she did.
I was only 16 when Grandma passed away. I had lived
in her house with her while she was dying for about
2 months. My Grandfather knew it was upsetting me too
badly, so he made me go back to my Mom's house.
Approximately 2 weeks later, the Lord took Grandma
home. I was glad to not be there to actually see her go.
Thank you for reading my memorial to my Grandma.
