My handsome son, with your eyes so blue,

I wonder, do you know I still love you?

I had you but a very short time,

But your face I still see, in my mind.

 

It breaks my heart,

That we’re apart.

Last time I saw you; such a small boy,

Your mother’s pride, your mother’s joy.

 

I’m not sure you remember me,

But you, I’ll love for all eternity.

I wonder, are you short or tall?

Do you ever think of me at all?

 

Have they taken your love for me?

Erased me from your memory?

I have memories of you, in my mind,

I will keep them, for all time.

 

One day I long, your face to see,

To hear you say you still love me.

But for now, please always know,

You’re forever in my heart, I’ll always love you so.

 

If you wake up one dawn,

And feel our ties are all gone,

Let me know, I’ll understand,

I’ll help you get them back….
