She stood there;
eyes full of tears,
She’d seen too much, in her seventeen years.
She’d seen death; learned loss,
Now another bridge, she had to cross.
This one was
tough,
She knew she didn’t love enough.
But there was a room full of people,
In this building with a steeple.
She was
embarrassed to leave in front of them,
Scared to walk away from him.
If she walked out now, she’d go alone,
She would have no one to call her own.
She was so young;
didn’t know,
There was someone else, who would love her so.
Ten years later; eyes full of tears,
She’s been through too much in her twenty-seven
years.
Life made a
circle, back where she began,
Been through more loss; has to start over again.
Through her pain, she gained wisdom,
Which made her the woman, she has become.
