He was a wonderful father,
Such a gentle soul had he.
A wonderful husband to Mother,
And a real hero to me.
He was my father,
He took time with me.
Other Dads didn’t bother,
If you saw him though, you saw me.
He knew the Lord,
Made sure I did too.
Told me of the Word,
Told me, “live by it, that’s what you must do.”
He taught me responsibility,
How to love and respect.
He taught me about raising a family,
And never to neglect.
He taught me by showing me,
Because children learn what they live.
He wanted only the best for me,
I can think of no better gift to give.
I’ve grown to be a wonderful
man,
Married now, have a wonderful wife.
No one can love me like she can.
Thanks to Dad, I’ve a wonderful life.
My father was quite a gem,
His work here was done, The Lord called him
home,
I’ll always miss and love him,
But now he’s an Angel, all my own.
